Common questions
Should I just use tax software instead?
If your return is one W-2 and the standard deduction, software is fine, and I'll tell you so. The moment you add self-employment, rental property, equity compensation, or a practice, the software can only answer the questions you know to ask. My job is knowing the questions you don't.
What documents do I need to gather?
After our intro call you'll get a personalized checklist, and my document checklist download covers the common cases: W-2s, 1099s, mortgage interest, charitable giving, business income and expenses. You upload everything through the secure portal, never email.
What does it cost?
Starting rates for every engagement are published on the pricing page, and your exact number is quoted as a fixed price before I start, based on your situation. No hourly meter, no surprise line items on the invoice.
How long does it take?
Most returns are finished within two weeks of receiving complete documents, and often faster early in the season. If you're up against a deadline, say so on the intro call and I'll tell you honestly whether it's doable or whether we should file an extension properly.
